By the way, if any of our teammates find this, if you want your stats added just sign up for an account and let us know. We erred on the side of thinking that we shouldn't assume everyone wants their stats saved forever on the internet. Jeremy, It all depends on if there are runners on base in front of you too. One can only go so fast! Give yourself 2 "mental" home runs at least. :) Stats also depend on where you are in the lineup. Well, we have no concept of how many strikeouts to expect, no concept of what other pitchers are doing, and really no good recollection of how many strikeouts Brian got. About the best you could say is that it seemed Brian struck people out more often than members of our team struck out. However it's not like we really even know that, and that doesn't imply anything further anyway. Other than all that, I'd be willing to bet it too. Yes, our knowledge of the various factors is incomplete, I never said it wasn't. Hence the "willing to bet" statement, which implies that I don't know for sure. Well, generally, "I'd be willing to bet" means you have some good reason to believe it's statistically more likely than not. "I'd be willing to bet Brett Favre has a worse year this year than he did than last year." That goes off of knowledge that he's on a new team, with a new playbook, the Jets are a worse team (at least on paper), and the fact that there's not a lot better he can be expected to get to, while there's a lot of room he can come down. Your statement on the other hand isn't based on anything what-so-ever. It's not that you "don't know for sure," it's that you don't know enough to know what you know. While that isn't technically a misuse of the phrase "I'd be willing to bet," because you can decide to bet on anything you want, I just thought I'd over-analyze your statement, because that's what we do here. I'm sorry. For future reference, what level of confidence do I need to have in something before I can correctly use the phrase "willing to bet". He did strike out alot of dudes for some reason. That is why I give him the edge, he batted well, showed up to play, made some amazing grabs from the mound, and directed the infield quite vocally. So I was curious having played for the team for two seasons and knowing jon since I was 16 and never having checked the site I figured I would give it a go...only to find out that my Stats were forgone and the internet community will never know of my legacy....or maybe it is more likely that no one will care but me, but I was wondering if I could get my stats posted. Cool, I was hoping you would want your stats posted. I'm guessing a .745 BA??? Now, there is a true MVP for the team! Where would we be without his clutch hitting and unbelieveable play in the field.
