It's still a possibility he has to opt for surgery, which apparently takes a long time to heal, and could mean missing the next two seasons. (Much like Chris Simms more-or-less did.) Especially since the comment about it says that the Vikings, who they have just barely in the middle 1/3 of teams, will be a "stern test of their status." We all know these Power Rankings are pretty meaningless, but if you have a team who beat up on two of the worst teams, and face a "stern test" in the 19th ranked team, you probably shouldn't have them in the top 5.
