For those of you who went to Princeton, Harvard, or Yale....
College rankings came out, a couple of interesting notes:UW-Madison is 38, Uof M-TC is 71 (tie with VT)
Honorable Mention- UWEC, was 26th on the Master's (Midwest) rankings (which means you should have gone to Madison)

Although the source is the school itself (biased) and the information is dated (How's 6 years!?) I will accept your claim that it is "fairly top notch" and stress the fairly. Although the commission that accredited UWEC in 2001 was changed (now the Computing Accreditation Commission) and UWEC is still accredited, UW-Oshkosh is now on this list. of course I'm only giving you crap- you've obviously done pretty well, and EC is a great school. Remember I got kicked out of Stout my freshman year... |

Yeah, there was a voluntary test to keep our accreditation while we were there. So many students were willing to donate the hour or two to take the test that they had to turn people away. So it's good AND the student support of the program is pretty good. I know the info is dated, but I just posted the first link that came up. Also I'm not sure schools are going to post a "We're still accredited" bulletin. From what I've heard the cs programs at U of W and U of M are cakewalks compared to UWEC's. One instance I know of for sure is that there was a falling out between the students and a certain professor. The following semester students were allowed to go to the U of M and take the database course that was being taught by said professor. Apparently the class at UM started off with basic stuff we had been doing for a couple years. By the end of the course they were at, course material wise, where the rest of us back at UWEC were at in like week 3. Also we're talking pretty "foundational" stuff here, so it's not like they were learning "other stuff" while we were learning that, and then were "ahead" of UWEC in other areas. (Also, just for the record, I did get accepted to Madison, I just didn't go.) p.s. I know you're just teasing. |
