It's hard to argue with the Twins' approach when they keep fielding teams that are competitive, but really shouldn't be because of the market/experience level. That said, I think Johan has a point in that once in a while you have to try and put something together for right now.

The Twins were close there for a while. Maybe they were just a trade of 2-3 farm system guys away from adding a player that would have put them over the top.

You look at the Twins' actions, and the people whose contracts are up in the near future, and it's hard to see this team as anything but on the decline.
