UPDATE: After I posted this link I saw a story saying that, while the Mets hired Rickey at the same time as firing their hitting coach, they would first offer the hitting coach position to then first-base coach Howard Johnson, and if he didn't accept then Rickey would take it. That seems to have been the case as the Mets have now named HoJo their hitting coach and Rickey their new first-base coach. Also, ESPN.com has updated the story I linked to above quite a bit, including that, at the time, his position was still up in the air.		Rate this comment Yours: Rated 0 times.
