Well, we always move the date 10 times, and if we start with it too far back no one thinks about it and then there's no where to move it to. There will obviously be flaws with any stats, but QS is at least a direct, mostly comparable, measure of what the pitcher did. Wins are basically a coin toss, and the fact that wins can sometimes, almost at random, be assigned to relievers, is more of a con, than a pro. (Put it this way, we would never contemplate adding "wins" as a category for fantasy football qbs, so why is this that much different?) However, I wonder if we could have something so the non-closing relievers aren't pretty much worthless. (Though holds are stupid.) I guess I don't have a huge issue with the net categories, anyone else? We really don't have a lot of options, unless we want to add a few mostly all or nothing categories, like perfect games, no hitters, hit-for-cycles, etc.		Rate this comment Yours: Rated 0 times.

Its just nice to do it late in spring training so that you don't end up drafting an entire team that starts on the DL. The players we will be drafting probably won't even have played in games by the 6th. I don't really like net stats. Closers are already punished for blowing saves through ERA and WHIP.
