And Michigan beat Penn St? I knew those bastards would start winning when everyone thought they were bad, so now the country will think the Big Ten is weak. As in Rickie Weaks. Argghhh! Badgers better win or bad things will happen tonight.

PS Corey Hart is awesome.

Honestly, I don't even remember what that "not a catch" comment is about, I'm guessing it was something in the Badger game. I apologize for this thread, I was busy making my peace with the 2007 Brewers. I think I drank enough to erase most of my memories of it so that in a couple years if I try to remember it I'll just assume that is was the same as the 25 seasons before that.

Actually, that catch comment made me relook at the Iowa td and I agree that it seemed he may not have actually controlled the ball while in bounds. Of course, he also interfered with the defender, so it's a two-fer. I can only imagine how it would feel to lose on a blown call like that. Oh wait, I don't have to imagine, it happened to the Vikings.

Well, I didn't watch the last week of the season, but rumor has it the Brewers finished above .500 for the first time since 1992. I can't say that I feel any sense of accomplishment for them though. Maybe I'm just being ungrateful, I don't know. But the Cubs were who we thought they were (a very underperforming team given their on-paper talent level), and we let them off the hook. I guess it's like they say though, tis better to have been in first and then tanked it then to have never been in first at all.

While being above .500 is hardly the same as being in the playoffs, I can't say I'm too disappointed in this Brewer team. Offensively, they were overachievers. Defensively, they played the way you would expect a team as young as them to play. Their infield consisted of 4 guys under the age of 25, with the most senior member having only 2 full seasons under his belt. Pitching left quite a bit to be desired, there's no doubt about that. All-in-all, I am pretty satisfied with the way this team played. I never felt at any time that the team was throwing it in, and for the first time since 1992, I got to watch meaningful baseball all the way into the final weekend. And without singing the praises too much, this is a special team that has all the potential to be successful for many years to come.

I really liked Gallardo. I think the Brewers could be in a little trouble here. Starting to worry a little bit. Although the Cubs win on the road helps ease the pain. The Astros loss does not however.
