I thought it would be fun filling out a bracket this year because upsets all around wouldn't be a shock, but instead it was kind of painful. I picked the favorites a lot because they're the better looking team and then I questioned if I was picking enough upsets. That pretty much happens every year though to some degree. But then I just didn't know what I was doing and I don't have much confidence in how it turned out. But maybe it will prove to be even more exciting that way. I toyed with the idea again this year of not filling out a bracket and just cheering for whomever whenever, but this only comes once a year and I don't want to change it up this year.

Every year I tell myself I'm not filling out a bracket. And then every year I decide it takes about 5 minutes, and in the unlikely event that I do we'll, the satisfaction could be pretty high.

Along those same lines, I filled 2 brackets out this year, but I don't really care too much about them. Unlike people that I was "watching" the games with who were constantly looking over their 20 brackets, I'd rather just enjoy the actual games.

Yeah I didn't really focus on my bracket much while watching. In fact, I just now looked at it for the first time since the games started. I just liked watching the games for the games. Though it probably helped that a couple of my upset teams won and the other upsets that I didn't pick were of relatively little consequence overall. But even still, it's fun just focusing on the games and then letting the bracket add to the fun rather than letting it get you down. I always struggle with fantasy football ruining the week for me so I'm happy to not let my bracket be that important.

Craig and I will have to work on our ongoing brackets sometime. Could be fun.

Worst....sports injury......ever. Seriously, that makes Joe Theismann's broken leg look like a bad bruise. Yikes.

This is close enough to the NBA...remember when the Bucks traded Ray Allen?
"Ray Allen led the Heat with 23 points, and his five 3-pointers gave him the NBA career playoff record with 322."

I remember exactly where I was when I found out they traded him. I was on the steps of Hibbard Hall when I heard about it. Quite devastating.
