Well, the point is that his low FG percentage is because his leg is stronger than most kickers and the Packers attempt a lot more 50+ yard field goals where most teams would punt. Using his low % against him would be like comparing the FG percentage of a basketball player who only takes 3 point shots vs a center who only takes shots from 4 feet away. Of course one is going to be higher. He's not the best kicker in the league, no doubt, but Lambeau Field can be a touch place for a kicker to kick if they haven't kicked in bad weather before. The last time the Packers let a veteran kicker go they ended up with about 3 years of "who the heck is that" until they found Crosby, who at least has been somewhat consistent.
