Close Call

My brother's Humvee was hit by an IED on a route to Baghdad. He is doing OK. Received some scratches from shrapnel in his arm and leg, has some back pain and maybe some damage to his right eardrum. He will be going to get some more testing done in the morning to see if he is good to go out again. There were 5 guys in the truck. One of the officers in the vechicle died. Chris said it was very stressful. They were not shot at after the incident. Chris seems to be doing fine, though.

I don't know how much of a closer call you can have than someone a few feet away in the same truck dying. I also don't know how I feel about feeling so happy it wasn't him that died, while knowing someone else did. I guess that's a normal feeling though.
