I hate watching good TV shows because watching TV is lame, but the series premiere of The Class was quite promising. One show is too small of a sample size to get too excited, but this show could be a keeper.

I'm glad you noted that one show is too few to judge on, cause often times that's all the writers had in them. Maybe a few more. and I agree that good shows kind of suck because I'd rather not watch so much tv. Anyway, I haven't watched the class but I think my brother recorded it. Everyone should watch Letterman this week. It's ventriloquist week.

I don't like The Class. It's mildly entertaining though.

I'd agree with that assessment. At this point, I don't see a 2nd season as very likely. I'll continue to watch though because I'm a sucker for a "dark haired, dark outlook, the world sucks, I act like I'm really tough with my biting sarcasm but deep down I'm actually not, plus I'm good looking and know it" female character.

Studio 60 has been good for 3 episodes, if you like Aaron Sorkin and his other stuff (West Wing, Sports Night)

Top episodic shows on tv right now:
1. Scrubs - even though it's on hiatus right now, it's still on the air and is still the best show around. You can catch the syndicated shows on one of three or so channels.
2. My Name is Earl - Brilliant show in many ways. I think Jason Lee does an excellent job in it.
3. The Office. I like this show, even if I tell people it's overrated. They always act like I just said I think it's terrible or something, but really I just think it's not the absolute BEST show on tv. Maybe it's just me being contrarian since I don't like how some people act like it's the show that invented comedy. All that aside, it's still really good.
4. How I Met your Mother. I'm pretty sure a lot of people watch this show, but I haven't met any that weren't members of my family. In some ways it's the typical "group of friends" show, but the writing seems just different enough to keep me coming back for more. A while back we talked about shows that we really look forward to, and for whatever reason, this is still on my list.

Lost is pretty much the only show I watch. Not because it's necessarily the only good show, but it's the only show that I want to spend time watching each week. I really like the Office from what I have seen.

The thought that The Office invented comedy is especially stupid because not only was the idea for the show ripped of, the first few storylines, and even some key jokes, were from the British version.

Shows I keep up with (ie If I miss it the night it's on I download it)(in no order):

Simpsons, Lost, House, Scrubs, My Name Is Earl, The Office, Mythbusters, Prison Break

In fact I rarely watch House, Lost, Mythbusters, or Prison Break when they're actually on.

I've been watching syndicated Scrubs quite often lately.

I can't get on the Earl bandwagon because I don't believe in karma and watching a show where half the characters have an IQ under 80 just isn't too tantalizing.

The Office is alright. Its almost overpoweringly odd at times though. Its more scary than anything to realize that there's probably people in real life like these characters.

How I Met your Mother is good and I've started watching regularly this season.

Besides HIMYM, Lost is about the only other show I care if I miss or not right now.

How did no one tell me that Heroes is freaking awesome!!!!????!!!! If any of you watched this show and didn't mention it here, you're fired. I flipped to it a few times last week but didn't really catch what was going on. Tonight I was more than willing to ignore the football game and I got into it a little. Enough that I figured I should download all 5 episodes and see how good it really was. The fact that I just finished watching them all consecutively till almost 3 in the morning should speak for itself. But I'll add that if I had any more episodes I would keep going. Forever. This is quite possibly my new favorite show that isn't a comedic type (in other words Scrubs). Plot, story line, characters, originality, suspense, hot chicks, super powers, it's got everything. Only 160 hours and 56 minutes till it's on again!

Hiro is a awesome character on his own, but the two Japanese guys together are hilarious.

I'm still not convinced "deranged schizophrenia" is a super power.

I'm not going to clue you in to awesome new shows until you watch every episode of Arrested Development.

So The Class only lasted one season. The basic premise I think was a good idea, but the individual story lines were pretty cliche and got old after one season. No big loss really, it opened up a time-slot in my schedule for a new show (which I will start a new blog for shortly).
