Ok, get the vote out

Francisco Liriano and Chris Capuano are both on their respective league's final man ballot. I expect the staffers and views of the NutCan to get out and vote. And for the record, I will vote for both of these guys as many times as I am allowed by MLB.

Even though that was the dumbest article ever, I still voted. I thought it would stop me after so many times but I think I did it like 10 times and it never told me "when"?

Chris Capuano has now pitched something like 28 consecutive scoreless innings against the Cubs. I think he made an in-your-face statement to be the replacement of Pedro Martinez for the NL squad.

I second the "stupidest article ever" statement. Also to be fair the Nutcan pitching staff could toss a 5 hit shutout vs the Cubs.

Yeah, well you guys are the stupidest article ever. Ha, how 'bout that.

All-star aside, Capuano is turning into one of the premeire left handers in the game. He has the 3rd most K's in the bigs among lefties, (behind Santana)(first in the NL), has the 2nd most wins among all pitchers, has the 2nd lowest era among lefties in all of baseball(again, behind Santana, that dirty dog)(1st in the NL), and he leads the league in the obscure stat of quality starts (6 ip with 3 er or less). I'm in no way making a case for Cy Young or anything like that, but if Capuano does make the All-Star game in favor of Pedro Martinez, he would definitely be a deserving candidate.

Did anyone else realize that we have a softball game during the the All-Star game? No America's Pasttime on America's birthday, but there is a game during America's mid-summer Classic? What kind of morons are running this country?

Although there is no question morons are running the country at pretty much any level of government I don't think I'd lump "Local Park and Rec Softball Organizer" in along with the people running the country.

However this does sadly mean that I wont be able to do another fantastic running diary about the All Star Game. Remember there was the first one, then the one Jon where slept through the game which featured minute by minute updates of whether Jon was semi awake or not? Excitement abound!

It's a bit early to start the Cy Young talk, but with that in mind Capuano would certainly have to be in the running at this point. He's one of only 4 NL pitchers to start 19 games, 2nd in innings, one of 4 with 10 or more wins, 8th in era, 2 CG that were shutouts, 1st in quality starts, 3rd in K/BB, 4th in winning %, and 7th in WIP.

Those numbers are about as consistent as you will find among the other front runners. If he can keep winning he should have a chance.

ESPN Baseball Trivia Quiz

I got 36 of 50 correct.

You can compare your score against some MLB players and ESPN baseball analysts.

I did better than all but one of the players (Kevin Mench), and beat former GM Steve Phillips, Fantasy Guru Eric Karabell, and tied writer Jerry Crasnick.

I got 18...and actually knew like 3. So I scored slightly above random chance. I'm pretty happy with that.

I guess all that voting meant nothing, but we all got our wishes since both of our pitchers are going to the All Star games. (Liriano and Capwhateverthehell) Yay!!!!

This is the most All-Stars the Brewers have had since 1983 or something like that. And considering that 5 of the NL pitchers pitched on Sunday, Capuano could actually get a couple innings.

You better study up on the 1919 World Series. I hear this year's exam is heavy in the Black "SOX" subject matter. Oh how I do love a good accounting joke.
