It's time for the 3rd annual "If I had a Hall of Fame Vote" post. Eligible candidates can be seen here.

A few reminders:
1. Voters can vote for up to ten players.
2. I'm a "Big Hall" guy so I voted for ten.
3. To be inducted, players need to be named on 75% of the ballots cast.
4. I reserve the right not to have reasonable explanations for any or all of my selections.
5. The real results will be announced on January 10th.

My Ballot
B. Blyleven
A. Dawson
S. Garvey
G. Gossage
T. John
J. Morris
J. Rice
L. Smith
B. Sutter
A. Trammell

Not only is this blog post an annual event, but it also ends up being the last post of the Year of Blogging every year. One time while making the blog viewable in years I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why it was mving from one year to the next like it should. After about half an hour of trying to get it to work I finally noticed it was working and that the first blog post listed each year were the very simmilar baseball posts. Thanks a pantload Chet.

I like Albert Belle for the Hall, except that he probably cheated. Also Joey Belle.

I don't really care. The longer each major sport organization exists, the less cool the hall of fames will be. Was anyone else a big card collector as a kid? Beckett went to a superstar, star, common sort of rating thing, and I don't think any of these guys ever fell into the star category.

Out of the many questionable names on my ballot, you call the Trammell choice blasphemous? Besides Blyleven, Trammell probably deserves enshrinement the most (Gossage a close 3rd).

To be fair though, I like Mattingly and wouldn't mind if he eventually made it to the hall. Same goes for Dale Murphy.
